life update

Just a bit of an update...-Anthony recovered well from his surgery... but of course it doesn't doesn't take long for something new to happen to him physically (of course playing church sports) He hurt his arm playing quarterback for football, nothing major probably a minor strain, nothing a little rest and ice and massage couldn't cure. So when he went to play next week he promised he couldn't play quarterback, but of course the last play they need someone who can throw a recent pass, so of course he's gotta show off to the youngings. When he takes a step back of the uneven church terrain low and behold another injury... not his arm, but his left knee that he dislocated in 2007 (from church basketball) had dislocted again (his cleat got stuck). This time it was more stable, unlike 2007 injury. So of course I had to him go to ortho-pedic instead of care physican, and got blood drained from his knee. Told him he can go physical therapy if he wants, wear a brace and in 6-12 weeks he should be healed if he wans to get out and play again. Doc did tell him its kindd of a 3rd strike you're got and he'll probably have to get surgery because the tendons are so loose (he's known he's mostly likely have to have knee surgery since he was 17 because of how loose everything is) So he's healing from that as well. -On a brighter note, Anthony is attending ASU to recieve a bachelor's in pre-health (might as well get started in case Columbus does or doesn't call)So he's been busy with that attending West, Downtown and Tempe. and going into work. Its a good degree whether he goes for dental or medical. - I just had a tymnoplasty (repair to the hole in my eardrum) We just did the left, and Im sure evntually we'll have to do the right. So this should improve my overall hearing.

Life Doesn't Always Go As Planned

I figured by this time in my life my husband would have a successful career with the police department, we'd be raising a kid with another one on the way; but life doesn't also go with your plan. A few weeks ago Jack (our lieutant friend in Ohio) contacted Anthony to let him know he was going to recieve a rejection letter for the Columbus PD. We wouldn't know the reasoning til he got the letter; we assume the reasoning is the 'wording' he used when talking about money/payment with the buisness. But he's able to appeal it, so he did so. Ever since his trip for the polograph test he felt it wasn't 'right'. When I got the news we weren't going to Columbus, you'd think I would have freaked out, but at the moment I felt, if he doesn't get this, he'll get another one. He had thoughts to start applying here, but didn't feel impressed to act on it, or any other police departments; A part of him felt he needed to stay here in AZ for the time being. After this news, Anthony searched as to what he should do, and he fell back to an idea he had in high school,orthopedic; well go back to school (he's weighing dental and medical) I was overwelmed with the thought of starting a family, having a husband going through med/dental school (possibly not working as much), should I focus on family, school, or work; and just all the stress, thoughts and worries of what can/will happen the next 6-9 years through this process. And then, one morning out of the blue the Columbus PD emailed Anthony to let him know his appeal was accepted and gets to continue the process. This kind of threw us for a whirlwind; police has been his career choice since we've been married (but many challenges/injuries have presented themselves in the process; maybe his injuries were a sign of PD not being right) I'd most likely be a working mom (whereas we'd love the idea if I have an oppourtunity to be a stay at home mom the younger years I can; plus Anthony thinks I'm too much of a busy body to be a stay-at-home mom). Apart of us feels we may need to move on from this idea (Columbus alone as already been a year process). but also know Jack has been so helpful to get us this far. Anthony shadowed an orthopedic in his office and got to learn a bunch of cool things and biggest advice is you have to love what you do to me a doctor because it can require long days, time away from family. He also shadowed a dentist in our ward; dentist has never been in the forefront of Anthony's mind, but liked the laidback enviroment and is more of a family oriented schedule. So for now he's going to let both options (police and school for dental/medical) pan out as they may, if he doesn't get accepted for Janurary acadamy for Columbus he'll most likely move on, we need to do whats best for us and our future family. Which brings me to the whole future family thing.... we're finally getting answers. Anthony's semen analysis has been off, so we went to a urologist and turns out he has varicelle veins in the scrotum and some fluid (which turns out he had a small hernia sack). So he underwent surgery to get them fixed. So we'll see what happens in 3 months to a year, and I'm sure he'll have less feelings of a 'pulled groin' all the time from sports.I know there's gonna be times of happiness and hardships, but isn't that part of life? All we can do it take life in strides, because life doesn't always pan out the way you want, but it turns out just fine. So for now just focus on what's important and take life from there.

Well we're still here in AZ, and get to grace another scorching summer. Hopefully we hear something soon, and we'll be there for the winter academy. Things have been kind of slow for my work, and Anthony; no one wants to be out in this heat. But I have started helping out one of my old office managers at her chiropractic offices, since their LMT is on maternity leave, and Im also helping out with a little bit of office stuff, which I think is cool because I'm sure if we get to Ohio I'd take time for my licensing stuff to go through, so I could do chiropractic asst./office work til then. So Im working part time at 2 chiropractic offices, and massage spa, and whatever outcall I receive (still feel free to call and hook yourself up, or spread the word). Sounds busy, but so far its been okay, like I said things are slow. So besides working, just trying to spend some family time when Im not busy. P.S my nephew Kaleb, is stinkin hilarous; as well as my endless pit niece Aria. Gotta soak up what I can. Well stay tuned...

Honest Anthony.

Anthony passed the polygraph test! Yea! Knew he'd have no problem, because he's always honest, he was a bit nervous which I'm sure he was detected on the machine, but how are you you remember EVERYTHING in your life. The main factor he would have to be concerned about is finances (bankruptcy and the buisness stuff); hopefully he'll be able to explain things in a way the oral board won't see if as a negative and allow in in the acadamy. So for now we're waiting to do the family interviews, most likely via telephone. He'll have to do a stress test and pass oral board and then he'll receive his letter of acceptance. They'd love to get him into June, but its also a process and who knows if it can be done by then, but if he's all done he could still be admitted if people drop out the first week or we'll be waiting for December. And hopefully all this gets done before the next physical testing but if there's people the score higher than him they would looked at before. But the interviewing told Anthony they try to get a good amount of 70 band into the acadamy because they are some of the best officers. So for now it's still step by step til it gets all done. So keep staying tuned...

Disneyland to Ohio

We recently took a trip to Disneyland, possibly on of the last for awhile. On our way there Anthony's mom called to tell us our friend Jack (columbus) his pushing him for the June academy for police, and he has his pre-interview and polygraph next week. So as soon as we got to our hotel he had to arrange a plane ticket and now that we're home get averything arranged. We assume if everything is on schedule he'll start acadmey end of June, and I'll try and get up there as soon as I can end of July or something. So I'll have to keep everyone posted step by step.

Anthony enjoying his churro and coke. Anthony hasn't had a Coke in almost a 18 months.=, and promised himslef he wouldn't have a bottle coek til he made police (and since we got news they're pushing him for the June academy in Columbus, and this might be our last trip to Disneyland for awhile; he treated himself)

Other recnt things: My birthday was great had to work but my co-workers are so great took me to lunch got me a cupcake. It was nice. Anthony brought me flowers to my work and took me out to dinner, and for my gift is a new wedding band (mine got lost while attending school cuz it was never sawtered), so depending on how things pan out hopefully I'll get it updated within the next few months (with these sudden expenses to send Anthony to Ohio, flights aren't cheap) might turn into a 5 year anniversary gift. And he got new oakley sunglasses. And of course have our combined birthday party in a couple weeks with his family.
So of course for now just working, getting things in order for Ohio.

I feel I should update the ol' blog though there's nothing going on. Cause I know I check to see the latest updates of my closest people, and I'm sure it'll all the same, nothing new going on with them either but it's still exciting to see it either way.
- Some exciting news: I left the daycare, and focusing on massage more full time. Its been nice having less drama and stress. So I work for the chiropractor, Hand and Stone Massage Spa in Anthem and work for an outcall company. I've just started this new schedule so I'm sure I'll figure it all out. But it'll be nice I may be able to spend time with family and friends; go hiking with my mom, play with Becky and nephew Kaleb.
- We're still waiting to hear from Ohio, there's still a possibility for the summer acadamy, but we think it's unlikely, cause we still have to go through background check. So he's still installin, and playin ball as much as he can; set a goal for himself to be able to dunk again. It was nice to watch him play, it's so funny to see his competiveness and drive (totally opposite of me, Im not competive at all) It'll be nice to set aside time to decicate to working out (like my sis Jules, way to go! Love ya, send some pics) But for now do what I can (eat right and little workouts here and there)
- So for now life is work, our hobbies (him ball me hula), watchin movie/tv shows together.

I want to share our experince in our efforts to get pregnant.
I was on birth control pill for 1 1/2 years. Before the pill the pill my cycle was regular, as a teenager I didn't track it day by day, but I knew within a few days when it should come, and sure enough monthly it faithfully came. During and after the pill it stayed pretty regular, I had a little irregularity/spotting after getting off the pill but nothing I was concerned about. After nothing happening for a 1- 1 1/2 years I concerned my OB/GYN He give me clomed and metaformin (to help regulate cycles and help ovulation process) so I took those, shortly after taking those meds I decided to go to school because I hadn't gotten pregnant yet and figured maybe this is the part of the journey I need to take first.
A year past and nothing happened, so I got a HSG done (to see if my tubes were twisted, if not its like a being roto-rootered) Even a few months after that nothing happened. Therefore I went to a specialist, with this process I have to go through a bunch of test to make sure nothing is 'abnormal' FSH, progesterone, # of eggs etc. My FSH level was 9.5, where it should be in the 4 for my age, but the AMH (ovarian reserve) came up normal. And my prolactin was slightly elevated, so I had to get an MRI to see if there's a prolatinoma on my pitutary gland preventing me from getting pregnant. (that was an adventure! I had to get an IVF so they could but contrast/dye to get a better image. And of course I had to look at it and passed out; freaked the office out cause they never had anyone pass out on them. Thank heavens I had Angie come to help them out. Guess I need to mention I tend to get lightheaded/pass out when it comes to needles and my blood, but it's hit or miss. I felt way bad cause I actually threw up which I've never done before when I get lightheaded or passed out)
Anthony's semen analysis was normal 2 years ago, and this go around the morphology (shape) was off, which could of been form his energy/protein shakes he's taken or from a cold; so he just has to up his vitamins and go back in 3 months.
Labwork is all done so once we get my MRI results possible results are meds, artifical insemination or IVF.
But for now it's just a waiting game of patience and faith.

a journey

As some of you may know Anthony and I have been trying to get pregnant for a few years now. And I want to share this journey with you because I know I'm not the only one that goes through this. You step into this journey thinking it should be a piece of cake right, people get pregnant so easily all the time planned or not. But this isn't the case for some and it now becomes on of your trials in you life; I mean I have a fairly good life, I grew up in a wonderful family, I have great health, I get by on life and never really had to experience true trials or turmoil. But we're all given trials to overcome as for now mine is INFERTILITY. And all the virtues I truly need to understand; PATIENCE, if you ask Anthony I'm not very patient when it comes to somethings, if I want something done I want it done now or always go go going ( being on time ). And I know "In God's time" is when it will happen, but after awhile you tend to think "what's he waiting for?, Aren't I living like I'm suppose to?" But we've also been going through alot and maybe it's not the best time to bring a little one into (bankruptcy, living with his parents, a possible move across country for a his job). With patience in "his timing" comes FAITH, Faith becomes a shaking thing in times of turmoil; in your partner, your God, and yourself. Doubt yourself or your partner thinking are you capable to conceive a child or get frustrated with God for not blessing you with a child. However a certain experience I had excerise these values; the night I met Anthony. I met Anthony on New Years Eve, and if you know Anthony's family they always spend that night at his Gma Surratts, but that year everyone was sick and he decided to come to out little New Years shin-dig. Anthony and I were both in a point of our lives where we weren't really concerned with the opposite sex, they were just 'drama' or not worth it, didn't apperciate us for who we are. But that night and the weeks to come we saw something in each other, possibility of our soulmate; for Anthony it was seeing me with his baby cousin, not afraid to embrace family, so within a month or two he was hooked; I'll admit it took me a little more time, and I was hesitant. But he always had a way to make me feel special when I was feeling down or there for me when I was sick and no matter how 'sassy' I was with him he never turned away; he accepted me through it all the good the bad and ugly. There I knew he was a keeper. And because of this experience and the way we found each other in this life I know God has his timing, when we allow "Jesus To Take The Wheel" he blesses us when we least expect it.
Though there's tears and frustration in our preparing for a family process, Yes it can be tough to hear everyone around getting pregnant and I may need to take a moment for myself, but don't get me wrong I'm happy for everyone around me that is progressing with their families. But I know well be blessed in our own way when its our time. Because each journey is different and special.
Prayers are appricated whether is to be blessed to get pregnant, patience, faith or peace, whatever blessing you feel fit.

- Earlier this week Anthony got a call from our friend Jack in Ohio, he called to inform us that Anthony is definitly on a list to be spoken to to join the academy in Columbus. Anthony made the 70 band (score he had on his written/multi choice etc). Once they talk to those that made the 90 and 80 band he'll be spoken to; so he could start as soon as May or Decemember (if they fill up the summer class). As time goes by it's looking like Columbus, Ohio will be our new home and the best fit for us.

Anthony and I celebrated our 4th anniversary last night. It was great time spent together, we got to enjoy Outback and my hubbie got me chocolate coevered strawberries. Not at all where we expected we'd be by this time, but its still a great journey nonetheless, and we can't wait to see what will be embarked on us this year.

- Well Anthony past the written, multiple choice and b-pad, so he got intivied back to for the physical portion. And what does he do 4 weeks before his test?... he sprains his ankle, playing church ball of course. This got him down because when we first got married his plan was to join police but he dislocated his knee so he got discouraged he wouldn't be able to pass the physical for Phoenix, so he moved on to other ideas. However Columbus phyiscal is less demanding Phoenix you have to be able to run a mile and a half in 10 minutes, Columbus you just have to be able to do push-ups, sit-ups, and the 300? dash in a certain about about of time. (doubt they expect alot of running in snow). So with lots of rest, ice, massage and stretching (and forbidden to play ball til after physical) he was able to have a speedy recovery, and PASS the physical no problem. So now he's on a waiting list for 2 years, but with our friend Jack (a lietunant on the force) working in Internal Affairs and all his insides I won't be surprised if pulls some strings within a few months (if anthony doesn't hear back right away) So it's kind of a waiting game, but he's keeping his eyes open; for example Orlando Florida is hiring and I'm sure he'd just love to be that close to Disneyworld. Wish we could find something here on the westside but gotta take what we can find and are given.
- I've been keeping busy workin trying to save up our money for whatever may come our way.
- We of course have a Disneyland trip coming up at the end of the month for our anniversary (though our anniversary is Wednesday). It'll be nice to have a little get away. (might be one of our last trips there if we go to Ohio soon).
- Other than that just takig it little by little.

- Well Anthony finished the first part of his testing for Columbus Police (written, multi-choice and b-pad; b-pad is where they show you a scenario you might encounter and to a camera you'd have to respond how'd you'd react, and Anthony is no 'actor') but we'll find out in December how he did, either failed or be invited back for the physical in Janurary.
- I got to visit Columbus with him a couple months ago and it was pretty neat, a big city feel but the country isn't too far away. Our friend was telling us they have parades, strawberry patches and such. Maybe being there I'd become a dedicated sports fan, cause apparently I have no choice. Go Buckeyes! ;) I think it'll be a cool experience. Not looking forward to cold and snow, but it might grow on me... It'll be cool to be 6 hours from Washington DC and New York, on the West it takes that long just to get to another state. So we'll see what happens, and where we end up.
- I've been pretty busy working still; might start to focus on massage full-time and become on-call at the daycare on my mornings off.

Busy Working woman!

So I landed a job with a chiropractor (located near arrowhead)doing massage. So doing childcare part time and massage part time til it picks up, cause he's bringing massage back into his office and revamping everything, and making sure we're a good match and everything works out. So I'm pretty busy working 6 days a week 8-630 most weekdays and a few hours on saturdays, til things get figured out.
We're going to be making a trip to Ohio next weekend to visit family friends and get to know the town and Anthony can talk to Jack about Columbus Police Department.
This past weekend we went to Disneyland, cause we thought they were ending the Aladdin show, but because they announce it was 'ending' it become busy again. But we got to see 'World of Color' the CA Adventures water show, PRETTY SNAZZY!
Anthony's still busy installin, and ballin.
So we're living step by step at the moment.

Ya know how kids will play with your hair when they're tired, well my cat does the same thing, except it involves kneading at my head. So I'll have to place my hair just right so he's not clawing my head and neck.

Me at graduation. My license came in last week so now I'm applying for jobs, and depending on what I get I'll be balancing the 2 jobs. So don't hesitate to contact me and ask for a massage.

After I finish school Anthony and I treated ourselves to a trip to Cali. spent time with Lamb family at Sea World, USS Midway, Knotts Berry, and the beach, then Angie and Allen met us at Disneyland for Anthony's birthday.

Angie thought this would be an awesome gift to get me for my birthday and for me to wear when we went and saw "Eclipse". She is such a crack up.

So we're both busy working. Anthony's applied to Alaska state trooper, should hear back from them in Nov/Dec. (he's always wanted to go there, and it'll be a good experience) and he's going to apply to Columbus Ohio in a few weeks when they open up their recruiting. (our good friend is a captain for the department).
So our life now is working, spending time with our families, and enjoying life.

I finish massage school in two days! Just put my paperwork in and should get my license in a couple weeks. So I'll be doing massage part time at a place I decide to work at and outcall (going to people's house)and the child care part time this summer til everything is figured out.
We're also moving back in with Angie and Allen, til Anthony and I figure out what we're gonna be doing, he's been considering becoming a policer officer (DPS). So for now slowly getting himself out of the business, and looking for police officer opportunites.
Ya never know where life is going to take ya and we look forward to our upcoming adventurers.

I'm sure people are wondering what we're up to. But it's all pretty much the same. Both busy with with school and work; doing what we gotta do.Happy to graduate in May and see where I go from there. So we'll see what happens.

Back to School, Back to School.

- I'm back into school; its kicked up a notch and I'm sure it'll keep going up. But its great, learning some cool techniques. Anthony is also back in school to get a bachelor of science in finance; so he's also at school monday thru thursday night til 10 most nights. So we only got weekend nights to spend with each other. But I'm proud of him going back to school and managing it all. So we've been pretty busy. And we'll see what happens next in our lives.

Start of a New Year

- I got my massage table and I pasted all my finals in school this quarter! Yah! 5 solid more months to go. And got to take a 2 week break, kinda. I worked all break pretty much. But it was nice not to have clinicals on Saturday. I was so stoked and wanted to make the best of the day (so made Angie take me xmas shopping with her)
- Christmas at the cabin was great. Snow up to my knees! Thank God someone was there to plow the snow. and water could be delivered (the water was misread and was really low) It was fun to chillax and spend time with Anthonys family. And Christmas dinner with my family is always good, laughing at Parker and what not.
- Ringing in the New Year was fun. Anthony's god-sister got her tonsils taken out so Angie's been taking care of her. So she had to coem with us. She was a riot being on drugs. And eat our long life noodles and drank Martenellis.
- So looking forward to the new year and what it'll bring us.

tis the season to update

Wow its been awhile.... so lets update.
- Halloween was tons of fun! Got to take Anthony's cousins out trick-or-treating for the first time. They did so good, so stoked and so polite. They made me so proud. But had to end it when they no longer could carry their baskets. Then heading to Jared and Beckys for halloween games with adults.
- Disneyland with Kaeleigh and Travis and boys was a blast so fun to see Braiden stoked about things and enjoying good time with friends.
- our buddy Keith came home on leave for a couple weeks from Navy so we went camping. Thats was some good laughs. I made him (and Anthony) sing Nsync and Backstreet Boys songs around the campfire.
-School is going great, going by fast! I have first set of finals next week. So its gonna be crazy. We've done cadavar lab, survived my first clinic session, we have a blindfolded massage coming up, all sorts of good stuff. It feels good to help others and help relieve some of the tension on themselves. So can't wait to learn more.
- Work at the daycare is good. Makes me happy/feel special when I am at work all day that my old kiddos run up and hug me and show how much they miss me saying My JoJo.
- Thanksgiving with my family was great, always fun times... and the blast we had hanging up lights (bickering with love).
- Christmas will be awesome. We're spending it at the Tieman cabin with Anthony's family, so hopefully it'll be a white christmas and good happy bonding time.

I painted the spare bathroom. Blue! I know tons of color, it was a little different at first but I love it.

Things are going pretty good, pretty busy.
Tiffany's wedding was beuatiful, Best wishes to her and Dan.
Camping was tons fun! Bunch of good laughs and fun times.
School is going great, its going by fast.
Still working a bit at the preschool, my co-workers tell me all the time my kiddos miss me.
And enjoying date nights with hubbie since I'm busy all the time.

This week's been pretty good; continuing hula, did a little spa party with kaeleigh, had a bbq w/ Kaeleigh and Travis and boys and Liz and BJ. It was fun all to hang out; we're all planning on going camping here in a few weeks. We also had a bbq here today with Tim and Shiloh and kids, and Matt and Brenda. It was fun to get the old gang together. I look forward to more get togethers with all our friends and continuing to grow and expand in our friendships. This week is my last full week of work before school, so we'll see how the new girl picks everythin up (my co-worker thinks my kids are going to walk all over her), a farwell well dinner for my co-worker Destany who's going to nursing school, and my co-worker Tiffany wedding this upcoming weekend. So prerty much keepin busy and living life.

A little update. my dad says I need to update more.

This past weekend I attended my co-workers birthday at Dave and Busters. It was fun to see my girls laugh and cut loose.
And attended my sister's birthday dinner at my parents, always a good time with family.
And this weekend I had a scentsy party, great succes. Hope everyone enjoys their items.

And went to dinner for my co-workers bachelorette party.

This past weekend we went to Utah with our friends the Lambs to attend an wedding reception for our friend Brittany from the singles ward. We stayed in Lehi (BEAUTIFUL!) with Travis' sis and attend the reception on Ogden. While there we went to Thanksgiving Point and went to their barn where you could look and feed animals.It was a blast to spend time with them and can't wait for our Disneyland trip with them in Novemember

Coming Up In Life

I'm excited for things coming up in our lives, a couple trips with friends-it'll be great to spend time with them. I also start school, which will mean I'll no longer be my students main teacher cause I'll be part time, so I'll miss them a bit and seeing some of my co-workers everyday. But I'm looking forward to the next step of my life, and will hopefully benefit me to work from home with future family. And I'm so grateful for Anthony in being supportive of me and trying to help keep me grounded, and no allow me to lose myself in being so busy and caught up in the world. Heavenly Father knew what he was doin that night he sent him the New Years Eve party, and we were just history from there.

This past weekend we went camping with my cousin Brenda and Matt. Its was a beautiful location and nice to spend time with them and escape the heat.

Our house looks great with the tile, it looks bigger. But we're also going through stuff and eliminating access for a future garage sale. (so if anyone wants first dibs let me know).
July 4th was great of course! riding the ski lift, teachin my niece a new dance to add to her collection of move and makin homemade ice cream.
We had a family get togther for Angie's birthday it was nice to get together (see the older cousins)
I also have a new boss for work, so she's tryin to get everythin panned out and smoothed out for us. (her kids go to our center, so it just made sense for her to be there).
Also Anthony feels inspired to start hiking for our trip to Glacier National Park near Montana with his great aunt next summer. So we'll get prepped up for that (I'm mean its not like its sternous hiking but prepartion will help if we wanna do more and it'll be fun for us to do.
Anthony's company is gonan expand to retail so tat'll help them out.
Other than that things are good.

FINALLY! I got tile in my house and I'm so stoked. Now its on to organizing everythin in the house and startin on a new project (probably paint the spare bathroom, and han gup pics) next big project will be the backyard which I will be just way as excited for.
The Kittens are doing good. Growing pretty fast, playful as ever.
Work for me is going pretty good. still hectic at times so hopefully our concerns will be fixed.
His work is doing pretty, Anthony gets to go back to installing (Matt got job offer, and we're so happy for him and hope he can continue to progress in the field)
Father's Day was good. Went to a buffet with Anthony's family, and suprised my parents by stoppin by (since we wrapped up early with his fam.) Catched up w/ my mom (my dad enjoys that :) )
Coming up: gettin the house settled again after tiling, Jess's wed reception. July 4th up at the cabin with my family, always good times! And possible for adventure with my family (having Julie back down), and Angie's bday.
Its gonna be fun!

Welcome To My Life!

So my birthday was a couple weeks ago, and this past Sunday was our birthday dinner with Anthony's grandparents and his parents. Angie has been trying to think of things to get me. A few weekends ago we were at IKEA and she said she'd get us yard furniture, and I said no cause my backyard isn't done and I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. So This past Friday/Saturday Anthony and his mom were being secretive on the phone. So finally driving around we arrive at PetSmart. I was liek are you kidding me. We've joked about getting a cat months, or closer to a year ago. So I was liek while I'm still hyped lets do this. But we decided to check out a shelter instead. Of course Anthony and his mom would have takin a dozen home. But it was my choice. And Anthony joked about getting more than one (cause we found one that liked both of us, but wanted me to get one that liked me more) And knowing my hubbie, he'd get 2 regardless of what I say; but we had to wait for our cat to get neutured (and the shelter closes at 5, so knowing I probably wouldn't be w/ anthony while he got him/them). But moral of the story, as of yesterday we have two new members of our family.

First is our boy Malu' (means protection, secret in Hawaiian)
Sweet loverboy who loves to explore and play (Siamese/Tabby. Black on top faded grey on belly)

And 2nd is our girl Koke (swift or quick runner in Hawaiian) And her name desribes her perfectly. Loving, loves to pounce and play, pretty fearless. ( jungle cat looking, part maincoon)

Hello All! Life with us Surratts are going pretty good. Went to a couple birthday parties a few weekends back. It was fun to visit with his little cousins, to see how much they're growing up, and we'll have a new cousin in October (no not by me yet), and also chit chatting with our family friends the Rices for Cole's birthday, and Kyle's graduation that Monday. All the while trying not to throw Antony's neck out, his neck just hurting him when we came back from Cali, got a massage then after basketball hurt it again, so had to get another massage. I dunno what I'm gonna do with that boy. And catching up with Laura at her sister's wedding. man we're all growning up so fast.
These past couple of weekends we've been helping Anthony's (god)sister move up to NAU. So last weekend we helped pack up her apartment and move her extra stuff into storage. And this weekend we got to spend some time up at my family's cabin and drop her off. We're so proud of her with all she's been/and going through to keep pushing through. Of course while up there the boys like to go shooting. So I got to shot a shotgun and a rifle (Anthony couldn't believed I married someone who's capable of being considered a sniper, and never shot a rifle), cause the shotgun is my source of protection is somethin happens while he's gone. And I must say I was pretty proud of myself, one shot with the shotgun and I got the target in the chest. I didn't do too bad with the rifle either.
So thats what we've been up to. Coming up; Anthony's birthday, work and more work, maybe a surprise trip to go up north or something, we'll see

Its May, and it starting to get hot! I love it! (not always, but most times)
I had a great birthday weekend. I started it off with performing hula at an elderly home for Mother's Day Saturday morning; then that night I performed at my home ward's talent show with my mom and we did good.
Then we headed to Cali for Disneyland, beach/pier time and visit with my sister; sad I didn't get to visit with her as much cause we were both busy. But I apperciate her lettin us stay with her and can't wait til she's here. Disneyland was good, not too crowded at all. Got a Birthday Fun Card (a gift card for the price of a day ticket to spens, since I already have a pass, and lines weren't too bad where we needed an ultimite fastpass) Tuesday we visit the beach just but our toes in the water, too windy and still chilly or my liking (I wanted to lay in the warm sand, and sprawled out in the hot after our Bubba Gump lunch)
Then I got to come back and do a 12 hour day at work(luckily I had time off so I could work) They're keepin my busy thats for sure. But we are offically Children's Learning Adventures. I'm suppose to be back with the all the 2 yr old (God know the other teacher needs to to stay sane, and get potty training really going. and I'm sure my old co-teacher would apperciate it (along with others too) so they don't have to deal with as many complaints. But hopefully I'll be back in there soon (once our new girl comes in) They're all still trying to figure everythin out.
But everything going pretty good. Got a couple get togethers comin up (graduations, weddings etc).

I just wanted to take a moment to apperciate my hubbie. Recently he bought a whole bunch of meat (pork, chicken) from Costco w/ his mom and decided to put or slow cooker to use finally. So he's been such a doll and trying out new dishes and cookign dinner for me. In the cooking department, you have to understand my hubbie can survive and usually wants 'his soup' which requires his process of making it, so I usually just make soemthin some or quick for myself. Or having different schedules everyday we're never hunger at the same time. But I apperciate all he does for me, and putting up with me. Love you Hony.

Spring into April

April's been pretty busy so far.
I finished my Pau skirt, didn't turn out too bad.
Easter weekend with my family was great, seein the kiddos have so much fun egg hunting. I stayed the weekend with them (Anthony left to go help out with his great uncle's funeral and going thru his junk. he got some cool stuff; knives, and a shotgun. And it was nice going to my old ward and seeing some old friends
I also finished the Twilight Saga, SO ADDICTING! I've already watched the movie 3 times, and can't wait for New Moon to come out. I'll have to keep reading more books, it occupied a good amount of my time. So if you guys have any reccommendations let me know.
Work for me been busy and insane this past couple of weeks being short staff, though my boss tried hard to avoid it I ended up with a lil bit of over time. So yeah for me.
Got to catch up with some of my girlies this month too thats been awesome
Anthony is doin good: Occupied with CSI and keep busy with work, headed to Ohio a while back and probably head to North Carolina here soon.
So in all we're doin good, keep busy.

My Heart Goes Out To Those In Grief.

This has been some week for close friends/family of mine, and losing there loved ones.
I just found out that a mother and daughter co-worker team I use to work with a Sunrise were killed in a drunk driving accident this past weekend.
My cousin (in law) lost her mother earlier this week to an unknown health cause.
and Anthony lost his great-uncle Ronnie of heart issues. (he wasn't extremly close to him, but my heart is out to Angie, Allen and his parents)
Thats 4 deaths in a week, of people I know. Such a sad week for some, but with Easter approaching we have to remember our brother Jesus Christ and all he did for us through the power of the Atonement.
My prayers are with them all.

March Madness

March has been pretty busy.
Aloha Festival: held at Tempe Town Lake this year. Always a blast got there early wo meet with our hula instructor and see the opening cermonies. and do our own thing. I got my mom to join us and see had a blast lookin at all the vendors and performances. The day before Katie (our hula instructor) got a call offering us to perform (but it ended up being for Sunday, so she turned it down; she's LDS) So we were relieved; how've we heard/saw many performances to dances we knew dance to (though their dances were different).
California trip: It was great to stay and visit w/ my sister Julie and her family. Just catch up like old friends, and spending the day w/ them at Disneyland ( a bit crowded, and a bit of grumpy kids, but we didn't mind we love them all) Thanks again Jules.
My work: been pretty busy, with some staff leaving and helpin kiddos potty-train, just deal w/ crazy 2 1/2 yr olds (boys will be boys) or helpin in other classes, etc. and extra training coming up cause we'll now be called 'Children Adventures" vs Tutor Time.
Anthony: his work is going good, slowly pickin up.
Otherwise, keepin occupied with hula in my spare time sewing a Pau(a hawaiian/hula skirt), I'm finally reading 'Twlight' for all you fans out there, a girl from my ward let me borrow hers awhile back and now i'm finally gettin around to it after watchin the movie w/ Julie. Other than that, keepin pretty busy for the most part; things comin up this mostly just work (training on my saturdays) this month, back to Disneyland for my birthday and keep workin on projects, whether it be sewing, hula/dancing/excersing or reading the Twlight saga.

Kaeleigh's baby shower: Was a good. Nice to see her mom and sis and play some games (I won at the baby song game. Basically name that tune (all songs have the word baby/babe in them). She's such an awesome girl and grateful Baby Carter is here safe (all her boys have/and will be preterm).
Keith's farwell: Was the same time as the baby shower. But had it for a little bit. He's been such a great friend to Anthony and I too have come to love him as a brother like Anthony has. We wish him all the best in the Navy.
Hula recital: Our recital went well. Katie's ward was awesome cheering, stopped eating to watch and everything. Her husband is gonna try and burn a DVD for us. So hopefully I can get it on her to show you guys. And I look forward to see what else she has in store for us to learn.
Mom and Dad's bday dinner: Was great. It was fun to sit and talk with everyone and finally look over family pictures. Hopefully Julie's family will be here in AZ once Kody's done with school, Kyle grew alot since the last time we saw him a couple months ago.
Anthony's buisness: They got some dealerships on the east coast (Ohio and N. Carolina) interested so he'll be heading over there for a few days to help seal the deal and see what else they can get.

-Well we had a nice Valentines Day. Anthony got me some flowers (after me hinting a couple times it be nice to get some flowers) and some sweet cards. I had some gift cards s we decided to use them; movie passes to see 'He's Just Not That Into You", pretty decent movie. And used a coupel giftcards at Chili's for dinner.
-This past weekend I went to LAC (Ladies Activity Club), basically girls night. We made cute hair bows and ate pizza. It was tons of fun to chit chat with the girls and share some laughs.
- Had a good Vday party with the kids at work, I knew they were gonna be wound up all day. And we gave them cupcakes with red frosting and they were messy as all get.
- Some upcoming things we got going on are: I have a hula recital, a baby shower to attend, a farwell party for Keith (Anthony's long time friend going into the Navy), maybe a family dinner to celebrate my parents birthday, and hopefully a trip back to Disneyland.

This month we got to see Lion King at Gammage. Pretty cool and extravgent show. It was nice to spend an evening with my parents. Anthony and I got to go back to Disneyland for our anniversary.(thanks again mom and dad) We had a blast like always. Nice for us to get away together. Realize we need friends or kids with us so they can make up our minds for us as to what rides to go on etc.
This past weekend we went to my family's cabin with Anthony's family to enjoy the snow. Thats always an adventure; last year Anthony and I got stuck in my dad's truck (we thought he had 4 wheel drive) so we had to park at the neighbors. This year with our 4 wheel Xterra, we got farther, but still got stuck. It was easier to get out this time but still. So his family had to park at the neighbors. We all enjoyed each others company and bonding.
PS. Happy belated birthday to my sister Julie. She's an awesome woman, sister, friend and mother. I know I was always her annoying youngetr sister. but I knwo we love each other so much and I'm grateful for her and now that we're adults how closer we are and will be.
Work at the preschool is going good. My students (2.5 yr olds) and I all combined with the young 3 yr olds. A couple rowdy moments but things are going pretty smooth.
Hula starts again tomorrow. Way excited to be shakin hips with both my mom and mom in law.

This year has been quite an interesting one. Taking on a buisness, and the economy taking a downturn; and because of that I think everyone (around me, and not)has grown tremendously! I know I have. I think I've gotten closer to Anthony, and Angie (my mom in law) especially. Grateful for her, and my mother as well both being such incredible women and being great rocks of their families. Enjoyed the trips I got to take with my family (to the lake and Utah), hard for us to take time to spend it all together. And I look forward to see what the next year will bring.

The holidays were spent at our house..
Christmas Eve: Spent with Anthony's Aunt and older cousins. It was fun seeing them all. Got to see them rock out to Rockband which was pretty fun.
Christmas Day: in the morning, Anthony and I opened up our small gift to one another, while we had our orange juice(his grandma j tradition)and cinnamon rolls.
My parents stopped by to wish us merry xmas (we had our gift exchange tonight).
That afternoon we had ham, deviled eggs, rolls and cookies. With his my in laws, his uncle's family and both side of granparent(s). We had fun opening and playin with our toys. Fun seeing the excitment on his family faces (xmas eve and day).
Tonight: checked out what presents Santa left at my parents house. It was a blast seeing my niece Megan get so excited about each gift she got and shriek at the top of her lungs. Hugging her Wall-E dvd and freak about her gift she asked Santa for (tinkerbell flyer) And all the kiddos wanting to help open presents. Got some good stuff; From Anthony's family-gift certificates,candles, bath and body stuff, bits of jewelry. Anthony got nice clothes, a toy helicopter for the boys at work to share
From my family: more gift cerficates to go out to dinner, Disneyland! (much needed), Anthony's guitar hero which he's playin as we speak and a blu-ray disc player and massages from my aunt! (much needed too) as well as invited to a Suns game and Lion King at Gammage (which are thing my parents occasioanlly get tickets to for their date nights). I thought Christmas was going to be totally different, but in the end.. it was still great and special (got most the things we wanted)

tis the season

This Thanksgiving was good. (my family was at the cabin for elk hunting, but we joined them the day after) We got to spend the day with Anthony's family. (everything was great-her stove didn't break; last year it did). It was good to see his cousins, they're gettin so big and smart. The next day we headed to the cabin to see my family. I got to be Megan's buddy for the weekend. It was great seeing everyone and bonding with them; have good laughs,charades, convos. (even though I was fightin a cold).
Now its December and time for Christmas. I'm way excited, I made Anthony put up our tree as soon as we got home from his parents Thanksgiving night. But since we've both been sick, tonight we're watchin a christmas movie and finishing decorating the tree, and hopefully put up the lights this weekend. Christmas will be small this year, but it'll be great as always cause you can't help but be in a season cheer. I'm looking forward to all the get-togethers and laughter.

Camping and stuff.

This past weekend, Anthony and I went camping with or friends Keith and Kaela up near Strawberry/Pine. (we forgot a camera, plus our computer is still down) We got up there late Thursday night and It was so freezing cold (20s for low 40s for high? yeah. Desert girl here!) Definitly had to layer up on the clothing and blankets. So we all tried to hurry up and set up this enormous tent (made for 10 ppl) So we could all just fall asleep. We enjoyed our time up there, tossing a ball around, played Phase 10, and just laughing and spending some good time with friends around a fire. (Especillay Anthony after being gone for two weeks, and both of us having a crappy week a couple days before) And let me tell ya nothin beats hash browns, bacon and eggs coked while camping. Let me tell ya Kaela and I gobbled that first patch of food down real quick. So Peace out tell our next adventure. Love ya

5. When do you put your decorations up? Generally right after Thanksgiving. I try to make the Hubbie put the outside lights up as soon as possible.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? green bean casserole (from my family, Anthonys family never really do it until I made them last year)
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Sleeping by the closed off chairs in the middle of the night til light and woke the parents up so we could finally open the presents (the anticipation and excitment of that morning even to this day)
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? Don't remember
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? With my family we usually don't, but with Anthony's family we spend christmas eve with his cousins so we open those presents up then.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? multi-colored lights. The ornaments Anthonys mom gave us (anthony's ornaments, sports, disney, homemade stuff) And a couple we've collected for ourselves (1st christmas and disney)
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Snow... I love it, but I am never really in it, and prefer not to stay in it too long

Hey guys. Just a little update of whats going on in our lives. Buisness is doing good. (hopefully after election everythign in our economy will pick up a bit) Work at Tutor Time is going good. Started out with the older 1 year old, absolutly adore them! But now I'm with the two year olds, bit more of a handful, but still good (my 1 yr old students will be up there soon which will be great). My mother in law and I are taking a 6 week hula class at a reacreation center. It is fabulous, its such a blast! Its so great to be dancing again. Went to my family's cabin this weekend with Surratts and Del-vecchicos; SOOO cold! But we had a blast going to the deer farm (those suckers are crazy.. tuckin on our jackets and trying to knock our hands down. Also went shooting, everyone had fun (those it was soo cold; 40-50 degrees 20-30 mph winds Saw a few good herds of deer along Route 66, (that was fun with my in laws, and Keith (little tipsy, so he was a riot) Also taught them to play PIT (always a fun crazy game at the cabin). Other than that, chillin, Anthony's rockbandin it when he's not out of town every other week.

So... it's been awhile since I've 'updated' with real info, and people have been telling me I need to updtae so they know whats going on in ours lives. (one of the reasons I haven't updated is our computer is down, so I used Anthony's buisness laptop = no recent pics etc). But here's a skinny of whats been going on in our lives the past couple of months. (a couple things might be repititous if you read me sis. julie's blog)
-The buisness is progressing, and in May I went back to work (cause I was getting bored) , went to McDonalds cause I knew I could get hired quick til I found something better. But this week I start work at a preschool, and I'm way excited to be working with kids again (even though I work in jr. nursery).
-We celebrated Anthony (and my birthday) the beginning of June with his family and friends with Gma Surratts korean food. Always a great time! My mother in law and I got a chance to go to San Diego with our husbands on buisness, it was nice for all of us to have a mini vacation together. (during on of Anthony's Cali visits he got to experience the earthquake they recently had there, so he thouhgt it was cool)
- For July 4th we spend a week with my family on a houseboat at Lake Powell. It was great being there, so fun and so beautiful (Anthony had never been, and I went when I was 3) So he enjoyed it as well and now is determined to try and get his parents on a boat (aren't huge on boats) to view the beauty as well.
- Then in August my dad rented a cabin for us again this year in Utah it was great to spend time and bond with family again (and having all of us girls make over my mom for all her hardwork on her weightloss)
- We also adopted Anthony's godsister's dog, Elway (golden lab retriever). So it been pretty fun having him around, I guess kinda good pracice for kids, having to take care of another being. We're having a blast with him have good laughs playing around and trying to keep all three of us in shape (walks when its not too hot)
- There has also been alot of weddings this summer. One of my great friends Laura got married beginning of August and it was so great to see her and how beautiful she looked, it allowed me to reflect back on my wedding and how we're all growing up into the next phase in ours lives and in hopes we can continue or friendship thru the next stepping stones in our lives (Rebecca and Beth are or about to get married as well.. congrats). I also got to be part of my cousin Brenda and (now hubbie) Matt's wedding (Matt: Anthony's good friend) and Brenda met, and shortly started dating after Anthony and I got married). So it was awesome and an honor to be a part of their journey. I see both them in such a great light and so proud how far they've come and how far I know they can go.
- The house is coming along great. Got most of the walls painted. just gotta paint the kitchen (with Anthony's help) and hopefully the guest bath and spare bedroom; as well as decorating (shelving, pics etc). Then eventually get backyard done (when its not as hot) and upgrades to house (tile, upgrade carpet etc). One project at a time.

Well thats been our summer (sorry haven't been consisently updating). No big events coming up, but I'll try to keep posting with intresting things that may happen.

I just turned 21 on May 11th, and where do you go for your 21st birthday? Vegas of course. Instead of the usually gambling all my money going to nightclubs and getting plastered I spent my trip seeing shows. On Sunday (the 11th) Drove up, stayed at the Ventinian, we went to dinner at Dementico?? (Emerils steakhouse) pretty good. (must say Napa Rose at Disneyland is better). Then we went and saw Blue Man Group. Really good show, humorous and fun.. it was a great big party. I really enjoyed it then had an eiffel tower experience at Paris/Ballys. Then the next day looked around at the ritz shops, saw "baby mama" then and saw Stomp Out Loud. A great group of talented and fun people. It was an awesome show. Then we met up with Tim (one of our good friend and employees of LEX- Anthonys company) and ate at this all you can eat meat Brazilian place in the miracle mile shops. Pretty good (Tim served his mission in Brazil). Then with the guys we decided to take me gambling on Freemont Street (the old strip) and try our luck at Blackjack. and I won about 30 (got up to like 60) bucks at a 5 dollar table. It was fun playing for really an not just playing with the the Surratt boys at the house. and having my pro hubbie looking over my shoulder in case I needed help. I made a couple 'bad moves" (on behalf of the other players, and their chances. says anthony, and telling me the old man would throw a look a couple of times) but hey I did good and I hade fun. And as we noticed our luck started to go douth we decided to call it quits, but before we headed back I made the boys play the slots with me really quick, lost our dollar pretty quick but it was fun (the next day Anthony and I inserted a dollar and turned it into 39 in one shot, so I called it quits on that luck). So in all we probably came home even on our money with the money we won and spent. But tons of thanks to my hubbie for taking me. It was a great birthday present. And can't wait for our next trip to Lake Powell with my family. Til then living life.. upkeeping a house, gettign ourselves back into shape, starting a family (yes we're offically 'trying'), me in the process of landing a job at an upcoming bank, Anthony trying to expand his company, and enjoying life.

We recently just finished up a much needed vacation to our favorite spot, DISNEYLAND. This time we took our friends Tim and Shiloh, their kids TJ (3) and Pammie (6wks). It was awesome experiencing with kids. We get the feel of what the future holds when we go with our own kids (a 5hr drive turns into 8hrs), baby crying in the middle of the night, experiencing rides with a first timer 3 yr old and some of his tantrums, catching up on some girl time with Shiloh, making fun of our hubbie's, seeing my hubbie bond with the kiddios. It was an all around good vacation as usual

So today Anthony and I, and his parents (huge Hawaii lovers, his dad grew up there as a kid) went to the ALOHA Festival downtown. Sooo awesome! It was great to eat some Hawaiian food, look at merchandise and I caught a couple of the performances, I love their dances! and their music ( I adore it when my hubbie sings bruddah IZ) Its such a great culture, lively, calming just all around great. It was so nice to be around it all again (went to Hawaii for our honeymoon). So if you're here next year, I highly recommend it, if you're aloha fans. Aloha to all!

This past weekend my sister and her hubbie decided they were bored in Cali, so decided to come down and celebrate my dad's birthday. So glad I got to see her, my bro, and her kids. They're getting so big; Kyle is so handsome and Megan is such a nut, she cracks me up. Every word that came out her mouth or thing she did made me laugh. It was so great to see all that! I love all of them so much!

Anthony and I were married Janurary 12, 2007 and recently moved into our new home this past September. Anthony loves basketball, plays any chance he gets and his Pontiac GTO (his pride and joy). I enjoy dancing, getting with a group of friends and palying some volleyball, softball or just hanging out. Going to Disneyland (or any vacation but Dland is usually where we go) with my hubbie; watching movies and joking around with my husband or friends. Anthony owns his own company (LEX; vechicle paint protection). So he's been extremly busy. And I recently 'use to' work at Sunrise Preschool. By I'm glad to get away from the drama (that mostly my director creates) but I will greatly miss some of the kids and co-workers. Now I get the oppourtunity to relax and think of what I would like to do. (decorate my house, volunteer to help decide future career, become more fit), before a baby comes along. I know I'm sure you're all wondering when I'm gonna start popping out those babies and looking all cute prego. All I can say is sometime within this year (summer/fall). So for now just doing the housewife thing and enjoy my free time, and time with my husband and hopefully time to catch up with friends.
